Feast of St. Louis de Montfort

On April 28, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of St. Louis de Montfort, the co-founder of the Daughters of Wisdom.

One of his well-known sayings was “Dieu seul," - “God alone.”

This focus of Montfort was the driving force behind his life as a missionary, preacher, sculptor, and poet. He also was the founder of the Montfort Fathers and the Brothers of St. Gabriel.

April is National Poetry Month

Every year April is celebrated as National Poetry Month. A variety of events are planned to celebrate the art and spirit of poetry and those poets past and present among us.

The Walt Whitman quote below is found in "Song of Myself" from his poem, "Leaves of Grass" and it appears on this year's poster put out by the Academy of American Poets.
