Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center (Litchfield, CT) is pleased to announce its new head chef - Margaret Jacobs.
Chef Jacobs is the Head Chef and Food Service Director for the interfaith retreat and conference center, overseeing a Food Service Team of five cooks. She has been known for many years as the owner and chef at Hannah’s Bakery and Catering now located in Litchfield.
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park, NY), Chef Jacobs has more than 30 years of professional cooking and kitchen management experience. Trained by Austrian and French chefs Antoine Linder and Michael Carrier, her employment has included working at the United Nations Plaza Hotel in New York City, as co-manager of The Rising Sun Japanese Restaurant at the Hartford Civic Center, Hartford, CT, as Executive Chef at EF Barrett & Co, NYC, and at The Litchfield Food Company, Litchfield, CT.
Chef Jacobs will continue to manage Hannah’s Bakery and Catering while also serving as Head Chef and Food Service Director at Wisdom House. Wisdom House, a not-for-profit center, provides meals and overnight accommodations for guests during their retreats and conferences. The center serves approximately 25,000 meals annually.
