Second Responders PLAYshop

On January 11, more than 50 persons took the Second Responders PLAYshop created by the Fortunate Blessings Foundation. This initiative was founded by William Spear of Litchfield to help address the immediate and long term emotional and psychological health of children who have experienced disasters. The training included exercises which could be used with children and would significantly reduce incidences of PTSD and help build resilient communities. Realms: Works of Mary Terrizzi, Naya Bricher, and Scott Bricher

 

 

 

 

Realms is an unfurling record of the parallel journeys of this family of artists. The format of the unfurling "exquisite scroll" brings a fusion of the narrative of the traditional horizontal hand scroll with the drawing exercise called "exquisite corpse," where the outcome is uncertain. Come and see what results from the intersecting lives of one family of artists.

 

Mary Terrizzi is a multi-disciplinary artist, designer and creative director. Mary has had over 30 years of experience as a designer of publications for White Flower Farm, The Taunton Press, and The Children's Television Workshop.

 

Naya Bricher is an emerging artist and member of both the Kent Art Association and Washington Art Association. She shows at juried exhibitions throughout the country including  the 63rd Art of the Northeast at Silvermine Arts Center where she received the Prutting and Co. Award for Mixed Media.

 

Scott Bricher has created artwork for exhiibition, portrait commissions, magazine and advertising clients. He recently completed two portrait commissions for The Gunnery in Washington, CT. His 2012 exhibition, Wunderkammer, was highlighted in the New York Times.
