Heritage Wednesday

In 1993, author Julia Cameron (center) first came to Wisdom House because we were using her book, "The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity."

Pictured here are Alan Colavecchio (on Julia's right) and Mary Lou Tanner (on Julia's left), who brought the program to us and were the first facilitators of the program.

We sponsored the program for various groups for a period of eight years. During that time more than 400 local artists participated in the program. Julia has returned to Wisdom House to do other programs over these past twenty-three years.

It was this program which was the impetus for creating the Marie Louise Trichet Art Gallery at Wisdom House in 1994.

Student Writers at Wisdom House

Student writers Erin Flavell and Malich Petillo, from Manchester
Community College, were in-residency recently to work on their works in progress. They were recommended by faculty to take advantage of a Writers Fellowship at Wisdom House sponsored by the Beatrice Fox Auerbach Fund of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. They are pictured here with Sr. Jo-Ann Iannotti, OP, who coordinates the program at Wisdom House.
