Meet Bonnie

Bonnie Mis, Guest Services Coordinator, plays a unique role in extending the ministry of hospitality at Wisdom House. She brings a variety of life experiences to her position. Bonnie began her career as a corporate trainer at Aetna Life & Casualty in Hartford, Connecticut. After relocating to Los Angeles, she worked for several years in Public Relations and personnel management. Upon her return to Connecticut, feeling that she would much prefer working in a non-corporate environment, she took a position as the Front Desk Supervisor/Membership Services at the Northwest YMCA. A summer job with the Northwest Connecticut Visitor’s Bureau initially introduced and ultimately lead her to Wisdom House.

Believing that “people are infinitely more interesting than products”, Bonnie feels that the non-traditional atmosphere of Wisdom House is a perfect setting for fostering group interaction and creativity. In her Guest Services position, she works with hosted groups to arrange lodging, food and meeting needs. She takes great care in making the process of planning and executing a meeting or event as personalized, comfortable and painless as possible for group leaders.

Bonnie holds a Bachelor of Science in Education/Communications from Central Connecticut State University. She had done post graduate work and holds several certificates in Hospitality Management and Communications. She continues to study yoga and is interested in other areas of holistic living.

Bonnie also has performed with several area bands, hosted a program with Hartford area public access TV and is a published freelance writer, and ski reporter. Her other interests include film, geography and travel, most outdoor pursuits and country western partner dancing.
