Casting for Recovery

"Casting for Recovery" was founded in 1969 in VT by a breast cancer reconstructionist surgeon and a professional fly fisher, Dr. Benita Walton and Gwenn Bogart. The program provides an opportunity for women affected by the illness to gather in a natural setting to learn the sport of fly fishing. The June retreat was held at Wisdom House. Women practiced "casting" on the front lawn and later went to a nearby pond to cast their lines.
