The Amherst Early Music Workshop met at Wisdom House over memorial Day weekend. Featured here during the faculty concert is Erin Headly, on extreme right, with the Lirone.
Erin formed Atalante in 2007 to promote the Lirone instrument which she brought back from 300 years of obscurity and on
which she is the leading authority.
In the 17th century, the Lirone was said to "move the soul and transport the spirit." Her research in the Vatican archives made many interesting discoveries. Wisdom House was honored to have her with us this weekend.
