Dancers in the Round

Dancers from the Tennessee Children's Ensemble walked and danced at the labyrinth. Judy Lane Robinson, managing director of the ensemble, offered guidance before the walk/dance.  The labyrinth provided a space to let go of stress and let peace dance into their hearts and bodies before continuing on to their next series of performances.

This dance ensemble has been acclaimed as Ambassadors of Goodwill for the State of Tennessee.  The ensemble is located in Knoxville, TN. Learn more at www.tcdedance.org.

Ambassadors of Light

Young women from the Tennessee Children's Dance Ensemble visited Wisdom House after performing at Newtown, CT, as part of their focus on Children Helping Children to heal.  The late Dr. Dorothy Floyd, founder of this dance ensemble, said, "You are a dancer, a divine light. You must make a difference. It must come from your spirit."

Ecology and Spirituality Panel : Bee Colony Collapse Disorder

On Saturday, June 1, Wisdom House held its first Ecology and Spirituality program with a panel discussion on the topic of Bee Colony Collapse Disorder. The panel for the program was Alphonse Avitabile, Mother Ozanne Schuman, OSB, and artist Cate Bourke.

Over 55 people attended the conversation, which was followed by the opening of Ms. Bourke's installation piece "Requiem for Being," which is based on the same theme. An observation hive was loaned by John Barker for the day so that guests could see the activity that goes on inside a hive of honey bees. The installation will be in the Marie Louise Trichet Gallery until September 7. Gallery hours are Monday - Saturday 10 am - 4 pm.
